The program is administered by Scholarships America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarships, tuition assistance, and other educational assistance programs for corporations, foundations, associations and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor and eligible applications are reviewed by the Scholarship America evaluation team. Awards for this scholarship are granted to eligible recipients without regard to creed, religion, sexual orientation, age, disability, or national origin.

Essays will be judged on creativity, clarity, spelling/grammar, and overall understanding of the topic. The deadline to submit an essay is March 2023. The winner will be notified by April 21, 2023.
Eligibility
Applicants to the #RAREis Scholarship Fund must be:
US residents diagnosed by a physician with any type of rare disease, regardless of medical condition. Applicants will be asked to provide a diagnosis verification form that verifies the diagnosis given by a physician.
Currently enrolled or planning to enroll full-time or part-time** in undergraduate or graduate studies at an accredited two- or four-year college, university or vocational-technical/trade school for the Fall 2023 semester.
17 years of age or older (no upper age limit, veterans and non-traditional students are encouraged.)
*Undiagnosed applicants may apply with a diagnosis verification form completed by a physician.
** There is no credit hour minimum to be part-time (ie, a class is considered part-time).

A recent transcript of your grades (high school, GED, college, etc.) grade reports are not accepted. Unofficial or online transcripts must show the student’s name, school name, grade, and credit hours for each course and term in which each course was taken.
A diagnosis verification form The Spanish Diagnosis Verification form must be completed by a physician and uploaded to your application. There is no hope.
Note: If you provided SAT or ACT test scores and those scores are not listed on your high school transcript, you must separately upload a copy of your test score report(s). If you are uploading a college transcript, those scores are not required.
