Under the ‘Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship 2025-26’ program, the Hungarian government has invited applications from students from various countries around the world, including Bangladesh. Students will get the opportunity to study in Hungary for undergraduate, postgraduate and PhD under this scholarship. Applications for this scholarship can be made until January 15, 2025.
The application form can be collected from the Stipendium Hungaricum website and applied. Every year, more than a hundred students from Bangladesh will get this scholarship subject to fulfilling the qualifications.
Study in Hungary, Free higher education opportunities in Hungary
The Hungarian government has been providing Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship since 2013. This scholarship was launched in Bangladesh in 2019. The tuition fee under this scholarship is completely free. Along with this, health insurance and accommodation facilities will be available. However, students can apply for any of the three – undergraduate, graduate and doctoral. Students can study at 30 universities in the country under this scholarship.
The University of Pécs in Hungary offers the Stipendium Hungaricum scholarship. According to their website, more than 5,000 foreign students from around 80 countries on five continents study with this scholarship every year. The aim of the scholarship is to increase the number of foreign students in Hungary and to encourage Hungarian higher education institutions to attract top foreign students.
All the opportunities and benefits of the scholarship
- Full tuition fee will be paid;
- Free accommodation in the dormitory;
- Health insurance will be provided;
- 43,700 Hungarian forints per year during undergraduate and postgraduate studies
- 140,000 Hungarian forints for PhD.
Subjects that can be studied
The scholarship offers 31 undergraduate, 29 postgraduate and 15 PhD programs. These include: Medicine and Health Sciences, Natural Sciences, Social Sciences, Business and Economics, Arts and Engineering.
Study in Hungary Application Eligibility:
- Must be an international student;
- Must be physically and mentally healthy;
- To apply for a bachelor’s degree, a 12-year school certificate is required;
- For a master’s degree, a bachelor’s degree is required;
- For a PhD degree, a master’s degree is required.
- You can apply with an MOI certificate without IELTS. However, an IELTS certificate may be required depending on the program. IELTS will be given more importance in the nomination of candidates.
- Must be born on or before August 31, 2007 (Honours).
- At the undergraduate level, preference will be given to younger applicants.
- You must meet other necessary conditions given by the program you want to apply for.

The notable things are:
- Language Proficiency (English) will be given importance in the selection of candidates. Preference will be given to younger applicants at the undergraduate level.
- The aim of this scholarship is to increase the number of foreign students in Hungary and to encourage Hungarian higher education institutions to attract top foreign students.
- Students can apply for any of the three programs—undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral. Applications submitted more than once will be considered rejected.
- Incomplete applications will not be accepted.
